HomeServe Receives Award for Community Care Efforts from Connecticut Better Business Bureau

NORWALK, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–HomeServe
USA
(HomeServe), a leading provider of home repair solutions, today
announced that it received Honorable Mention from the Connecticut Better
Business Bureau 2016 Marketplace Excellence Awards in the Community Care
category. The Marketplace Excellence Awards recognize businesses that
demonstrate excellence in serving their customers and communities and
are presented by the Connecticut Better Business Bureau, an unbiased
non-profit organization that sets and upholds high standards for fair
and honest business behavior. HomeServe received the award at the
Connecticut Better Business Bureau’s 2016 Awards Banquet and Annual
Meeting on November 10th.

The Community Care Award recognizes businesses that demonstrate the
importance of participation alongside charities or community
organizations. HomeServe initiated several programs both on behalf of
their employees and the Company that support local and national
charities that give back to the communities in which HomeServe employees
work and live.

Among the standout programs developed by HomeServe was a charity pitch,
modelled after popular reality TV show. Employees were encouraged to
present a charity that is near and dear to them and their families, to a
panel of their peers and company leadership. A company-wide vote was
then taken to select the top three charities. 2015’s three winning
charities included; National
Organization for Rare Disorders
(NORD), St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital
and the Parkinson’s
Unity Walk
. This initiative is part of HomeServe’s People Promise,
an internal mission to bring together both the organization and its
employees by creating a mutual commitment to give back to their
communities.

HomeServe also created HomeServe Cares, a fund which covers and
facilitates home repairs for qualifying low-income homeowners that are
in need of assistance, in order to alleviate them of the inconvenience,
worry and financial burden often associated with emergency home repairs.

“We are very proud of our employees’ generosity in generating awareness
and support for various organizations and causes,” said Tom Rusin, CEO
of HomeServe. “Likewise, we are pleased to offer programs that provide
access of our services to homeowners who are unable to afford urgent
repairs in the communities we serve. We’re honored to receive this
recognition by the Better Business Bureau Serving Connecticut.”
