More than salsa at la Copa
Ready for a night on the town? Then put the Copacabana are your list. , Located in the heart of New York City, it’s one of the oldest and most iconic nightclubs in the Big Apple. The Copacabana maintains a classic 1940s vibe but with a more modern twist. For many years, the club Barry Manilow dedicated a song to has been a club and restaurant. But with smaller, intimate settings becoming so popular, “la Copa” has also introduced a lounge Rooftop 760.
Those of you who have been to Copacabana know that its draw is live performances, dancing and a well-dressed crowd. Every Saturday night, they have guest artists, such as Toby Love and Chris Alfinez. On a recent evening, I danced to the sounds of LMusik, who performed a variety of Pop and R&B dance covers with their Latin mix. LMusik kept the crowd on its toes to hits from Rihanna to Don Omar. There’s a large dance floor so everyone was dancing and having a good time. And the cool part about the performance was that LMusik interacted with the crowd the entire night.
Each weekend, there are different genres of live music, so it’s not your typical salsa Saturday night.
Copacabana has a classy and more mature crowd on Saturdays, so dress to impress. The cover charge is $20 but ladies can go to the website http://www.copacabanany.com and sign up on the guest list for free admission before 12:00 am. This Saturday, head to Copacabana where DJ Elmer G and DJ Lucho will have live remote to The Mega 97.9.
