Antonio Banderas has turned into one of the most desirable Latino bachelors after his divorce from Melanie Griffith. Despite being photographed at the Cannes Festival in the company of a beautiful blonde?photos so humiliating for Melanie that she asked for the divorce days after?“El Zorro” has no new official girlfriend.

New house in his hometown, Malaga

The newly single actor is finding a new home in Spain, as he plans to spend more time in his hometown, Malaga. The actor bought a luxury penthouse in the Andalusian city near his mother Ana, who lost her husband a few years ago. From there, he will be able to follow the processions of Semana Santa (Holy Week), of which Banderas is passionate and has visited every year despite living in Hollywood.

Until 2014, Banderas celebrated the occasion in the company of Melanie and their daughter Stella del Carmen.

The former couple has always been a hot number in Spain, due to the love that Melanie has shown to both the country and to her Spanish family, as well as the kindness of Banderas who–unlike other Spanish actors such as Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz–has always stayed humble despite being a Hollywood star.

Still, Antonio Banderas certainly enjoys some luxuries in his new home, such as installing a separate elevator to safeguard his privacy, and the exclusive use of the roof terrace, with stunning views of the Picasso Museum and the Holy Week processions.

Banderas’s new film projects in Spain

Antonio Banderas has recently been seen supervising the work of his new home with his brother Javier. The whole family is delighted to enjoy more of his company, after years of him being almost permanently installed in Hollywood. This year he will spend long periods of time in Spain, as his next movie projects are in his native country.

After filming “The 33? in Chile, Banderas is focused on starring in the new film from director Carlos Saura, appropriately titled “33 days”. The title refers to the days that Malaga painter Pablo Picasso took to paint his most famous painting, El Guernica.

Melanie Griffith, still officially Mrs. Banderas

Melanie Griffith continues her life in Los Angeles, where she has been spotted with a big smile and looks serene, apparently. The actress, who is still officially Mrs. Antonio Banderas on her Twitter account, lives bittersweet days. The sadness of her separation is mixed with the pride in the triumph of her daughter Dakota Johnson, a new Hollywood favorite thanks to the imminent release of “Fifty Shades of Grey” and worthy heiress of the beauty and talent of her mother and grandmother Tippi Hendren.

Surprisingly, Melanie keeps her wedding ring on and also the tattoo on her arm with the name “Antonio” surrounded by a heart. As noted in a statement, the Banderas have chosen to get divorced in a “loving and friendly” way and are showing “mutual respect” by honoring the time spent together, even though rumors say that crises and fights have been a constant in recent years.

A decision for the sake of Stella del Carmen

But the decision to get divorced appears to have been very thought out and both Antonio and Melanie wanted to keep it secret until their daughter turned 18 next September. However, Stella del Carmen, who has always shown great maturity and no interest (so far) in devoting herself to showbiz, seems to have gracefully accepted the new situation, aware that her happiness is the top priority for her parents.

Although they are no longer a couple, Antonio and Melanie are still two attractive, successful and talented people, and we are sure that love awaits them again at some point down the road.
