Ricky Martin has been supporting Thorpe’s decision to come out as gay and social media and the press is now rumoring about the Latin star being romantically involved with the “Thorpedo.”

Spanish media outlets have said that Thorpe and Martin met in Australia, when the singer was a coach in the famous show “The Voice.”

It’s also believed that Martin mentored and played a part in Olympic gold medalist Ian Thorpe coming out. However, the singer has refused to comment on the claims.

“I am extremely happy that he is talking about his happiness, and that is where I would like to leave it,” Martin apparently told a Daily Mail reporter when asked about the claims as he promoted his The Voice Australiin Melbourne.

The Puerto Rican singer took Twitter to express his joy and to tell the swimmer how proud he was of him.

Congrats @IanThorpe! Brave man! Happy for you! Millions appreciate what you’ve done! Proud of you! #SelfLove

Olympic Swimmer Ian Thorpe Comes Out as Gay

Ian Thorpe finally put an end to years of speculation about his sexual orientation. The Australian swimmer revealed that he ‘is a gay man’ during a recent interview with Michael Parkinson.

“I’m comfortable saying I’m a gay man,” Thorpe added, “and I don’t want young people to feel the same way that I did. You can grow up, you can be comfortable and you can be gay.”

Thorpe said he had wanted to come out for a long time but “didn’t have the strength,” and was concerned about reactions from friends and family, who were surprised by his news but have been very supportive.

“I’m not straight, and this is only something that very recently — we’re talking in the past two weeks — I’ve been comfortable telling the closest people around me exactly that.”

To Everyone who has sent a message of support I sincerely Thank you!
