The MTV hit show “Jersey Shore” is getting a remake in the tropics.

No, Snooki and The Situation aren’t heading back to Miami. Rather, a whole new show set in Mexico’s Pacific coast, “Acapulco Shore,” will air this fall on MTV Latin America and MTV’s bi-lingual U.S. network Tr3s.

Eduardo Libreja, VP of Viacom International Media Networks (which owns MTV) told El Universal: “We’re very proud to announce Acapulco as the center of production of the first Mexican version of the ‘Shore’ franchise, the energy here and its vibrant, social day and nightlife are the perfect combination for the series.”

The new reality series will follow a similar format to it’s Jersey counterpart.

The premise of the show will follow the lives of eight young Mexicans living near Acapulco, one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations.

They’ll live together under one rule “Solo se vive una vez,” or as the saying is popularly said in English, “YOLO” (You Only Live Once).

“We’re confident that the Latin American version of the show will entertain and capture audiences the same way that its predecessors have around the world,” said Mara Iregui, Brand Manager of MTV Latin America, in a press release, according to El Universal.

So you know what that means!!

It looks like Mexico’s in for a “situación” on their shores!

The show has begun to place teases all over their social media accounts and as of yet to show the faces of the cast members only their bodies ? or even given us any names or ages.

The trailer to the show’s tagline says

“No hay vacuna que te prepare para esto ¡El Shore llega a Acapulco en Septiembre! ¿Estás listo?” which roughly translates to “There is no a vaccine that will prepare you for this. The Shore comes to Acapulco in September! Are you ready?”

Other popular MTV shows that are seeking to find viewers in Latin America include a planned Mexican re-version the comedy clip show “Ridiculousness,” which is not yet in production.

Another is a remake of the reality documentary-series which takes a look at the truths and lies of online dating. The show is currently in production and will be called “Catfish Colombia.” It will also have a fall premiere.

This reincarnation of the show will join the list of other international adaptations that have been made including the U.K.’s “Geordie Shore”, Poland’s “Warsaw Shore” and Spain’s “Gandia Shore.”

“Acapulco Shore” is set to premiere in September.
