Leading the nods this year are Romeo Santos and Enrique Iglesias, thanks to their successful releases in 2014.

Santos, who’s at the peak of his career with his solo albums “Formula Vol. 1″ and “Formula Vol. 2,” is on top of the nominations with 21 entries in 16 categories, including Artist of the Year and Top Latin Album of the Year.

Iglesias, is also in the race for those two titles, in addition to 17 other entries in 15 categories.

Billboard has reported that both acts broke the previous record of most finalist nods for a single year, held by Tito El Bambino and Don Omar, who both garnered 18 nods in 2010 and 2013, respectively.

Some of the other finalists who follow the superstars are Colombian urban star J Balvin with 12 entries, mainly because of his addicting hit “6 a.m.”

Marc Anthony and Drake ?for his collaboration with Romeo Santos in “Odio,” both have seven nods. Cuban sensations Descember Bueno, Gente D’ Zona and up-and-coming Puerto Rican Farruko are all six-time finalists.

Mexican artists are also going strong at the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Julion Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda, Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga, Banda Los Recoditos, Kevin Ortiz, Banda Tierra Sagrada and Calibre 50 are all nominated.

Other multiple finalists include Marco Antonio Solis, Santana and Prince Royce, up for five awards; the late Jenni Rivera, Calibre 50, Plan B and Wisin, up for four; Ricardo Arjona, Camila, Chayanne, Alexis & Fido and Juan Gabriel competing for three each; and Yandel, Shakira, Banda Los Recoditos, Ricky Martin, El Komander, Calle 13, Remmy Valenzuela, Juan Luis Guerra, Baby Rasta & Gringo up for two awards.
