The National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) is proud to announce their honorees for their 2015 NHMC Impact Awards Gala.

For the past 18 years, the organization has honored outstanding contributions to positive media portrayals of Latinos at their traditional Impact Awards Gala.

“This year’s honorees are proving that audiences want to see more multi-dimensional Latino stories and performances,” said NHMC President and CEO Alex Nogales. “We are proud to celebrate outstanding Latino talent and innovation that is paving the way for Latino inclusion in media.”

Co-hosted by Roselyn Sanchez and Lisa Vidal, the ceremony will honor the talents of five Latino stars who’ve taken the culture to the forefront.

Carlos Ponce

Puerto Rican actor, singer and TV host Carlos Ponce will receive an Outstanding Performance in a Television Series award for his comedic work on ABC’s show “Cristela.”

Jon Seda

Jon Seda will also receive an award for Outstanding Performance in a Television Series for his role on NBC’s “Chicago P.D.” Seda is known for his portrayal in films such as “Selena” and “I Like it Like That.”

Jorge Gutierrez

Mexican director Jorge Gutierrez, who filmed the animated fantasy-adventure film “The Book of Life,” is expected to receive the Outstanding Direction in a Motion Picture award.

Gina Rodriguez

Golden Globe-winning actress Gina Rodriguez has been invited to receive an award for her leading role in CW comedy-drama “Jane the Virgin.”

Elizabeth Peña

NHMC also announced it will commemorate the life of actress Elizabeth Peña in a special memorial tribute presented by her dear friend, Academy Award-nominated actor Andy Garcia. The late actress, who died at 55 last year, was best known for her work in “La Bamba” and “Modern Family.”

In addition, MiTú, Inc., a media company and digital multi-channel network operator, will receive the inaugural Outstanding Innovation in Social Media award for its leadership in captivating Latino audiences through high-quality and culturally-relevant content.

Additional honorees will be announced.

Past honorees include Eva Longoria, Robert Rodriguez, Diego Luna, Michelle Rodriguez, America Ferrera, James Cameron, George Lopez, Cesar Millan, Zoe Saldana, Mario Lopez and Rosario Dawson.

The NHMC will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 in Beverly Hills, California.
