‘Sounds from Spain’ will take by storm SXSW Festival

The best tunes from Spain will be hitting Austin Texas at SXSW with an outstanding lineup from the Spanish Music industry.

Sounds From Spain” is the platform that was created to support the internationalization of the Spanish music industry, and includes the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music-INAEM, SGAE Foundation, AIE Artists Association, the Association of Music Agents-ARTE, Music Producers Spain-PROMUSICAE, and the Independent Phonographic Union – UFI representatives.

In this edition, ICEX -SFS will organize an official pavilion in the market. Seven Spanish companies from different sectors of the music including representatives of artists, record companies, and publishers will participate, including Dotbeat!, El Segell del Primavera, Sonido Muchacho and Sony Music Entertainment Espana S.L.

There will be two outstanding concerts, one on Wednesday March 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the other on Friday, March 20, from 8 p.m. to 1:45 a.m.

The first will be an outdoor Paella party in Brush Square, a small park located just opposite the Convention Center and the second is the showcase included in the official program of SXSW, and will take place at the Lucille Patio Bar at 77 Rainey Street, Austin.

The six prominent Spanish bands that will be performing are Begun, Hinds, Disco Las Palmeras, Macaco, Oso Leone and rulo y la Contrabanda.

Macaco has also been selected to perform at the International Day Stage. This showcase is slated as one of the most important stages at the festival, which features some of today’s best artists from around the world and is covered by a multiple of media and industry.

Other Spanish bands that will be present in Austin to present their new creations to international industry representatives include: Agoraphobia (Boiro), The Parrots (Madrid), Ocelot ( Barcelona), Sexores (Barcelona), Txarango (Barcelona), Berri Txarrak (Lekunberri), ELE (Madrid), The Last Neighbor (Barcelona), and Nach (Alicante).
