AHF to Open New East L.A. AHF Pharmacy with Ribbon-cutting & Reception Wednesday, March 23rd

AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s (AHF) grand opening event marks the
relocation of its East L.A. AHF Pharmacy to Whittier Blvd. and S.
Hillview Ave. from nearby Goodrich Blvd. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony
and reception. The new pharmacy continues to serve the community
and also raises funds for AHF’s HIV/AIDS programs and services in the
U.S. and abroad.

AIDS
Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the largest non-profit HIV/AIDS
healthcare provider in the U.S., which currently provides care and/or
services to more than 600,000 individuals in 36 countries worldwide,
will commemorate the relocation of its East L.A. AHF
Pharmacy with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening reception
on March 23^rd. In collaboration with Bienestar, a non-profit
organization that provides HIV testing, advocacy and support for the
Latino community, AHF will hold the opening event from 5:00pm to 7:00pm
at the new location at 5356 Whittier Blvd. in the heart of East
L.A. Diane Ouadfel, the Pharmacist-in-Charge at the East L.A.
location, will be among those cutting the ribbon on the new facility.

“Our East L.A. AHF Pharmacy is family-oriented and brings a real sense
of family and community to our clients and patients,” said Ouadfel.
“We believe this new location directly on Whittier Boulevard will allow
us to continue—as well as improve and expand—our mission of service to
the community.”

AHF East L.A. Pharmacy is a stand-alone, street-level pharmacy that
services the general public as well as patients from AHF’s Whittier
clinic, Bienestar clinics and those eastward toward San Bernardino.
Alongside community pharmacy and HIV services, the new location will
also provide drug-nutrient screenings, herbal and prescription drug
interaction screenings, integrative natural medicine consultations, a
variety of herbal and homeopathic products, and a knowledgeable,
medically bilingual staff (Spanish – English). They are currently
growing their services for the transgender community in tandem with
Bienestar. 96 cents of every dollar earned at the pharmacy supports
AHF’s global and national HIV/AIDS services, including treatment,
testing, and advocacy.

AHF Pharmacies have been serving the Los Angeles area since 2000. There
are now a total of 13 locations
in California, 37 throughout the United States and medication delivery
nationwide.
