AHF: Women of Action (WOA) Honor ‘International Day of the Girl Child’ Sunday, Oct 11th with Events in L.A. & Worldwide
Events, including a gallery event in DTLA Sunday from 1pm to 5pm,
focus on girls ages 5 through 13 affected by HIV around the world
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In celebration of International
Day of the Girl, Women
of Action, an affiliate of AIDS
Healthcare Foundation (AHF), will be hosting a gallery event in DTLA
this Sunday, October 11th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
featuring photos and videos of—and art created by—girls ages five (5)
through thirteen (13) affected by HIV around the world. Under the
umbrella ‘She’s Her Ally’ (hashtag: #ShesHerAlly), the WOA initiative—in
support of International Day of the Girl Child—strives for global
fellowship, understanding, and empowerment among young girls, with the
ultimate goal of maintaining their health and well-being. Countries
represented in the Women of Action/AHF celebrations include: China,
Russia, India, Mexico, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, and the United
States, with Los Angeles as host U.S. city.
