Alzheimer’s Greater LA Announces Fourth Annual art4ALZ Memories in the Making Art Exhibition & Auction

A celebration of creative expressions

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles will host their fourth Annual art4ALZ
Memories in the Making (MiM) exhibition & auction on Thursday, June 2,
2016 at SPF:architects in Culver City, CA. This unique fine arts program
offers creative and non-verbal communication through art, and enhances
connections with families, professional caregivers, and others.

The MiM program is highlighted through a gallery exhibition & auction
that showcases the amazing artwork created by artists of contracted MiM
sites. It provides an opportunity for families to enjoy the art and
raises funds for relevant programs and services. This artful experience
not only stimulates the brain, but also preserves distant memories and
opens communication about self-perceptions and the world.

“Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles is dedicated to meeting the needs of
men and women affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias,” says Ayesha
Dixon, Memories in the Making Manager. “While social isolation may be
common for those living with the disease, the MiM program provides a
sense of self-expression and a unique approach to sensory-based
communication.”

Memories in the Making is made possible due to the generosity of Susan
Disney Lord, Abigail Disney, Tim Disney, and Roy P. Disney in loving
memory of their mother who was an artist, Patricia Disney. The art
exhibition will take place on Thursday, June 2nd from 5:00
p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The one-day exhibition will be free of charge, but
reservations are encouraged.

Please RSVP by contacting Dawn Davis at (323) 930-6280, ddavis@alzgla.org.
