Bank of America and (RED) Team Up on World AIDS Day to Help End Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV

(SHOPATHON)RED Raises Money for U.S. Fund
for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS; Features Iconic Products and
Once-in-a-Lifetime Experiences

CHARLOTTE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–(RED) and Bank of America are once again joining forces on Thursday,
December 1, World AIDS Day, to help end mother-to-child transmission of
HIV in Africa. Since January 2014, Bank of America has contributed $10
million to the Global Fund through its partnership with (RED), and
earlier this year announced its partnership extension that will bring
the overall total to fight AIDS to $20 million by 2020.

“As part of World AIDS Day, we encourage our employees and customers to
join the fight and help bring an end to mother-to-child transmission of
HIV,” said Anne Finucane, vice chairman at Bank of America. “Together
with our customers, we’re helping mothers with HIV live healthy lives
and give birth to HIV-free babies. When we do this, we create more
economic opportunity by addressing an urgent and solvable health need
for mothers and children.”

As part of World AIDS Day 2016, Bank of America is the official payment
provider of (SHOPATHON)RED,
a month-long holiday shopping campaign that kicked off with a commercial
that premiered during ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on November 22.
(SHOPATHON)RED offers hundreds of (RED) products and chances
to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences with celebrities. All money raised
goes to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Additionally, Bank of America will donate $1, up to $1 million, for
every purchase made December 1-7 using a Bank of America debit or credit
card linked to Apple Pay. The money raised will support HIV/AIDS
programs in sub-Saharan Africa, providing HIV+ mothers access to
life-saving medication to ensure their babies are born HIV-free.
