Boingo “Passpoint Secure” Networks Available to Nexus 6, Nexus 5X
and Nexus 6P Users

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ: WIFI), the leading DAS and Wi-Fi provider that
serves consumers, carriers and advertisers worldwide, today announced
that the company’s roaming network of more than 100,000 “Passpoint
Secure” hotspots is now available to subscribers using select Android
devices running Android 6.0 “Marshmallow,” the new version of Google’s
operating system.

Available for the first time for Boingo customers with select Android
devices, Passpoint technology makes connecting to Wi-Fi as simple,
seamless and secure as cellular. Boingo subscribers with Passpoint
credentials can experience instant connectivity with no action needed on
their part, streamlining the transition between Wi-Fi and cellular
networks and eliminating the need for network logins and passwords.
Boingo’s Passpoint-enabled hotspots feature powerful WPA2
enterprise-grade encryption technology, providing enhanced security for
customers on the go.

“At Boingo, we’re committed to providing the best connected experience
to our subscribers and roaming partners. That’s why we launched the
world’s first large-scale commercial Passpoint hotspots for consumers in
our high traffic venues, and why we’ve been deeply involved in the
development of the Passpoint standards since their inception,” said Dr.
Derek Peterson, Chief Technology Officer for Boingo Wireless. “Today,
we’re proud to welcome users with devices running Android 6.0 to our
‘Passpoint Secure’ networks, and look forward to supporting additional
Android devices in the future.”

“As part of our vision for Next Generation Wi-Fi, the WBA has encouraged
support for Passpoint within the wireless industry. The launch of
Passpoint support in Google’s Android 6.0 operating system is a
significant milestone, illustrating a commitment by a leading mobile OS
player to enhance the user experience with Next Gen Wi-Fi, ” said
Shrikant Shenwai, Chief Executive Officer of the Wireless Broadband
Alliance. “Through this launch, more users will experience the benefits
of Passpoint, a truly next generation connectivity experience.”
