— Adult online education leader teams with Dealer, Comcast and others to
bridge workforce development gaps —

BURLINGTON, Vt.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Champlain College announces that truED® has signed alliances with more
than 60 leading government and industry organizations who share a deep
commitment to learning as a means to remain competitive, improve
employee retention and enhance recruitment. Through truED, employees of
alliance organizations access Champlain College’s nationally ranked
post-secondary online degrees and certificates tailored specifically to
adult professionals at up to 70 percent less than the standard tuition
rates through affordable monthly payments.

This milestone marks truED’s second anniversary. Organizations such as
Dealer.com, a part of Cox Automotive Inc., Comcast Corporation, AT&T,
Cisco, Seventh Generation, and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management,
utilize truED as a part of their workforce development strategy by
providing employees career growth and advancement opportunities. So far,
over 1300 students are enrolled in truED spanning the U.S. and
abroad.

“Across every sector, even the most forward-thinking organizations are
facing talent shortages that threaten organizational goals,” said Dr.
Laurie Quinn, Provost and Chief Academic Officer, Champlain College. “In
response, Champlain College has developed a career-driven approach
centered on adult professionals that goes beyond technical mastery to
deeper skills that serve them throughout life as critical thinkers,
effective managers and inspiring leaders.”

truED: A Proven Model of Adult Online Education

Champlain College is consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report

online education for more than 20 years. Champlain’s understanding of
adult learners directs the development, delivery, and ongoing assessment
and enhancement of academic programs accessible through truED. Key

  • Benefits to the student:

    • An affordable, high-quality education: Access to more than 60
online certificate, bachelor’s or master’s degree programs taught
by practitioners in high-growth, in-demand fields for up to 70
      percent less than standard tuition;
    • Programs designed for the adult learner: Engaging environments,
immersive labs and discussions focused on globally-minded
curricula that matter most to professionals; and
    • Set up for success: quality assurance practices empower adult
learners for degree completion through career-services resources,
student network support, and dedicated advisors, faculty and
      program directors.
    • Designed for the alliance organization: addresses workplace needs
      and matches academic programs to meet organizational goals;
    • An accelerated path to solutions: facilitates planning, managing,
and budgeting across functions, locations and levels; and

thinking, problem solving and communication skills that enhance
      their value to organizations.

“Champlain College has earned its reputation in addressing workforce
needs by being a true partner to the business community, and always
being on the quest for what works,” said Sean Collins, Senior Director,
Organization and Leadership Development at Dealer.com, an integrated
digital automotive retailing solutions provider. “We are working
hand-in-hand to build our bench of future leaders. The results have been
outstanding – from increased ingenuity to more engaged employees. We
happily expect our truED enrollment to grow from 200 employees to an
    additional twenty-five percent next year.”

With a deep understanding of the adult learner, Champlain College
distinguishes the ways in which adults utilize and apply their
experiences as they pursue a career-focused degree or certificate
online. The curriculum – emphasizing problem solving over testing – is
designed to be immediately applicable to the student’s workplace.
Further, it instills the management capacity and leadership qualities
necessary for long-term growth in today’s workforce.

The most popular programs pursued through the truED alliance include
those in undergraduate and graduate business and accounting,
    cybersecurity and digital forensics.
