Deluxe Corporation Showcases Powerful Stories of Employee Volunteerism in “100 Hours to Make a Difference” Program

New series of inspirational videos and photo essays shows how Deluxe
employees used 100 hours of paid time off to improve their communities

SHOREVIEW, Minn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–As part of its 100th anniversary celebration, Deluxe
Corporation launched the “100 Hours to Make a Difference” campaign,
through which the company asked its more than 5,000 North American
employees what they would do if they were granted 100 hours of paid time
to spend improving their communities. Now, in a new series of videos and
photo essays, Deluxe is sharing the inspirational stories of how those
employees used their 100 hours to make a difference.

Deluxe selected 17 employees nationwide in June 2015 – including six in
its home state of Minnesota – to grant this extraordinary opportunity.
Those passionate employees have since embarked on a diverse array of
volunteer activities, and the stories of how they improved their
communities are being shared at the newly launched www.DeluxeCares.com.

“Our employees are deeply entrenched in their communities, giving freely
of their time and talents,” said Lee Schram, CEO of Deluxe Corporation.
“In creating this program, we were able to let this group of 17 make an
even greater commitment to the causes and organizations they care about
so completely.”

Since its founding in 1915, Deluxe has fostered community involvement
among its employees and supported an array of causes. From arts groups
to financial literacy programs to job-skills training, the Deluxe
Corporation Foundation has awarded more than $100 million in grants that
strengthen communities in both the U.S. and Canada. The “100 Hours to
Make a Difference” initiative was designed to celebrate a century of
Deluxe employees giving back to their communities.

“When we launched ‘100 Hours to Make a Difference,’ we were overwhelmed
by our employees’ passion for philanthropic causes, so we set out to
capture their powerful stories,” said Amanda Brinkman, chief brand and
communications officer for Deluxe. “The new DeluxeCares.com website
showcases Deluxe’s century-long commitment to corporate philanthropy
while illustrating the incredible impact these employees have made to
deserving nonprofits.”

One video shows Rick Pals of Minnesota, who traveled to the Dominican
Republic to support Feed My Starving Children, a nonprofit that provides
food to children in impoverished communities. Another depicts how Carrie
Fritschy of Colorado traversed the country to raise awareness of
tuberculosis treatment, speaking before the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention and other decision-makers, after her infant daughter
survived the disease. One photo essay highlights Shirley Heideman, a
longtime Special Olympics volunteer from Ohio, who used her 100 hours to
recruit more volunteers to the organization.

Along with the five employee videos, photo essays of the other employees
have been captured and shared on DeluxeCares.com. In each case, the
essays document the passion involved between the employee and the cause
they are involved in. DeluxeCares.com also features information on
grants that are available through the foundation, and it highlights the
tremendous work of the Deluxe Foundation and our employee volunteers.
