First Command Joins Military Spouse Employment Partnership

FORT WORTH, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–First Command Financial Services, Inc. is proud to announce its
participation in the Department of Defense Military Spouse Employment
Partnership.

The Military Spouse Employment Partnership is an employment and career
partnership connecting military spouses with more than 295 partner
employers who have committed to recruit, hire, promote and retain
military spouses in portable careers.

First Command officially joined the Military Spouse Employment
Partnership at the annual Induction Ceremony held today at the Mark
Center in Alexandria, Va. Dr. Jill Biden launched the Military Spouse
Employment Partnership on June 29, 2011, to serve spouses from all
military services. The partnership is part of the Department of Defense
broader Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, which seeks
to reduce the 25 percent unemployment rate experienced by military
spouses and close the 25 percent wage gap currently experienced by
military wives.

By joining the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, First Command is
becoming part of an even larger collective effort to support military
spouse employment.

“First Command has a long and successful history of hiring military
spouses for meaningful careers serving our many active-duty and veteran
client families,” said Scott Spiker, CEO of First Command. “This is a
history we have every intention of continuing as we seek to foster and
promote the trusting, face-to-face coaching relationships that are the
hallmark of our organization.”
