Honoring a Literary Legacy: Books-A-Million to Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday with Special Event on Saturday, March 5!

Festivities include storytime, crafts, coloring, games and sale on
select Dr. Seuss books!

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Oh, the places you’ll go! Thanks to the genius of Dr. Seuss,
treasured titles like “Cat and the Hat,” “Green Eggs & Ham” and many
more have become beloved children’s book classics for multiple
generations of young readers. The man behind the storybook brilliance,
Dr. Theodor Geisel, would have turned 112-years-old today! In honor of
the literary legacy who brought inspiration through his whimsical
writing style, renowned rhymes and animated tales, Books-A-Million
is hosting a special Dr. Seuss birthday celebration with
storytime and fun-filled activities at all store locations on Saturday,
March 5
starting at 2 p.m.

As part of the event celebrations, children can enjoy read-aloud story
time of popular Dr. Seuss books, crafts, coloring and games galore. As
if the festivities weren’t enough, customers who buy two Dr. Seuss books
will receive a third for FREE on select Dr. Seuss titles through March 7!

To spotlight this admired author’s imaginative, signature stories, Books-A-Million
has released their top three picks of Dr. Seuss must-reads.

“Green
Eggs & Ham”

Sam-I-Am tries to convince another Seuss character to eat a plate of
green eggs and ham. In the end, the unnamed character tries the
dish, and ends up loving the food!

“Oh,
the Places You’ll Go!”

All journeys face perils, whether from indecision, from loneliness,
or worst of all, from too much waiting. Seuss’ message is simple but
never sappy: life may be a ‘Great Balancing Act,’ but through it all
‘There’s fun to be done.’

“The
Cat in the Hat”

What to do on a rainy day? Two children sit and stare out the
window, when suddenly a giant cat wearing a tall striped hat pops
into their lives. With tons of wild rhyming that is classic
Seussical goodness, the kids watch helplessly as havoc is wrecked
upon their home by all sorts of things the cat produces, including
Thing One and Thing Two.
