HOSPECO Key Player in New NYC Law Guaranteeing FREE FemHy Products

CLEVELAND–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#NYC–HOSPECO®, a leader in feminine hygiene dispensing and other

New York City. Mayor Bill de Blasio last week signed a new bill
guaranteeing access to free feminine hygiene products for a wide-ranging
group who are generally unable to easily afford or obtain them,
including Department of Correction inmates, persons in city shelters,
and public school students. Approximately 800 public schools will be
required to install the free feminine hygiene dispensers in all girls’
bathrooms.
The bill had passed with a unanimous vote by New York City Council in
June.
The signing is part of continued efforts by officials including New York
City Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras-Copeland to make feminine hygiene
products free and readily available to this target audience. “I am proud
to lead the nation towards menstrual equity by guaranteeing access to
pads and tampons to hundreds of thousands of women and girls,” said
Ferreras-Copeland.
HOSPECO believes that woman’s health and hygiene products are
necessities like toilet paper, toilet seat covers, soap, and hand
dryers, and that access should be universal and, when possible, provided
for free.
Their dispenser features an easier-to-use, push-button dispensing
mechanism, is easy to restock, and accommodates different product
types—both super and regular tampons, for example. A light-up sensor
indicates when the machine is empty. The dispensers can be designated by
the facility to offer products on a complimentary or for-profit basis.
