IHS Becomes Signatory of Women’s Empowerment Principles

United Nations Initiative Is Part of Company’s Diversity-Related
Programs, Initiatives

ENGLEWOOD, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), the leading global source of critical information
and insight, has become a signatory of the Women’s
Empowerment Principles (WEP) in a continued effort to actively
participate in, and contribute to, advancing equality.

The WEP, a set of seven principles that offer guidance on empowering
women in the workplace, marketplace and community, was created through a
collaboration between the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and
the Empowerment of Women (UN
Women) and the United
Nations Global Compact. Launched in 2010, the WEP has grown to
become the largest business-led gender equality initiative in the world,
endorsed by approximately 1,200 CEOs from more than 80 countries.

The participation of IHS in the WEP represents a significant and
actionable step in support of the United
Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5, which seeks to achieve
gender equality and empower all women and girls. IHS is also active with
the Women’s
Leadership Foundation, among other diversity-related programs and
initiatives.
