Intertek and CQC Sign Agreement to Expand Cooperation, Including CCC
CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Intertek, a leading total quality assurance provider to industries
worldwide, and the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) recently
signed a memorandum on strategic partnership formalizing their
cooperation in national certifications, such as China Compulsory Product
Certification (CCC), as well as international certifications. This is a
significant step forward in Intertek’s domestic strategy in China
following its designation as a CCC-testing laboratory for electric power
tools by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the
People’s Republic of China (CNCA) in 2015. With this agreement, Intertek
is able to help manufacturers and retailers access the Chinese market
and efficiently launch new products into this growing region.

China Compulsory Product Certification (CCC) is a statutory compulsory
safety certification scheme implemented by the Chinese government to
safeguard consumers’ rights and interests, and protect the safety of
people and property. Under CCC, products must comply with China’s
national standards and relevant technical requirements. Intertek was the
only newly designated laboratory headquartered outside of China approved
for CCC in 2015. With this new designation, Intertek has enhanced its
service offering for electric power tools manufacturers and can test
screw drivers, impact wrenches, sanders, drills, hammers, threading
machines, reciprocating saws, marble cutters, and more. Intertek
recently worked with the impact drills manufacturer Positec Group, a
renowned electric power tools company, to secure CCC certification from
CQC. Positec Group is the first electric power tools company to obtain
CCC certification via Intertek’s testing service.
The approval of CCC laboratory status for electric power tools
supplements Intertek Shanghai’s 30+ international accreditations to
provide manufacturers with comprehensive quality assurance solutions.
