Meridian Entertainment International, Inc. Announces World Cup Players All-Star Soccer Match & Psy- Gangnam Style Concert

Meridian Entertainment International, Inc. has announced that tickets will be available by July 4 for the upcoming World Cup Players All-Star Soccer Match & Psy- Gangnam style concert.

Tickets are priced between $19 and $185 for the match, which will take place Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Organizers will also give away about 4,000 free tickets to various individuals and groups.

“This is sure to be the biggest entertainment event of the summer in the Los Angeles area—if not the U.S.,” said Mike Bannan, Manager of MEI. “Very few soccer matches feature the wide range of talent that will be on display on July 21.”

The World Cup Players All-Star Soccer Match & Gala will feature many of the world’s top current and former players, including Ronaldo, Gattuso, Robert Carolos, Edmilson, Edgar Davids, Frank Ribery, Dong Fanzhuo, Joan Capdevila, Mario Balotelli and Marcel Dissaily. There’s also the possibility that Zinedine Zidane and Marco Materazzi—the two players involved in the infamous 2006 World Cup head-butting incident—will play in the match.

The game is sure to be a competitive match, with players from the West team representing North America, South America and Central America, and the East team featuring players from the rest of the world, including Asia, Africa and Europe.

In addition to the world-renowned athletes in the match itself, the overall event will feature Psy, the Korean pop star who has sold millions of albums across the globe—thanks in large part to his recent hit “Gangnam Style.” There will also be an appearance by university cheerleaders and various other entertainers and recording artists.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will go toward the U.N. World Food Program to help fight hunger in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Syria. At the event, organizers will also collect non-perishable and canned foods, cash and other items to be sent to refugee camps and war-zones in these two countries.

“This match is going to be something you don’t want to miss,” said Bannan. “We’re very pleased to offer thousands of free tickets for this match, which local businesses, schools and organizations can give away to their employees, customers or other stakeholders.”

The event’s organizers are giving away up to 150 tickets for active U.S. military members, up to 150 for military veterans and up to 150 for disabled veterans, as well as up to 100 for firefighters and 50 for police departments and sheriff’s offices. There will also be up to 150 free tickets available for disabled children under the age of 18.

A number of nonprofit and corporate organizations will also have access to free tickets, including 30 for Los Angeles metro area media outlets and 12 tickets for each area religious organization, including churches, mosques, synagogues and temples. Each local Chamber of Commerce will receive 10 tickets and each school in the area will get 30 tickets each.

In addition, various hospitals, health care centers and nursing homes will get 10 tickets each, and a number of retail locations will get five tickets each to give away. Major companies and labor unions in the area will get 10 tickets each, with political parties (five) and super PACS (three) also receiving free tickets. Finally, 20 tickets will go to community leaders and another 20 to each city or county government in metro Los Angeles.
