MyHeritage Adds Audio Recordings for Preserving Family History

Users can conduct oral history interviews with their relatives using
the MyHeritage mobile app, for safekeeping in MyHeritage’s cloud

TEL AVIV, Israel & LEHI, Utah–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MyHeritage,
the fastest-growing destination for discovering, preserving and sharing
family history, has unveiled a new capability that allows users to
easily create audio recordings in the MyHeritage
mobile app.

Oral interviews are vital in family history research; they provide a
unique opportunity to capture precious family stories that might
otherwise be lost, and to preserve them for future generations on
MyHeritage’s cloud. The recordings are very simple to create and edit,
offering convenience and ease of use for both interviewer and
interviewee.

Audio Recordings turns users’ smart phones into portable instruments for
capturing family stories. Recordings are automatically saved as MPEG 4
audio files, uploaded to the user’s family tree on MyHeritage, and can
be accessed and played at any time on the mobile app or online. Each
recording may be tagged with the individuals referenced in it, for
instant playback from the family tree profile of those individuals.
