NAHJ to Honor Trailblazing Founders

NAHJ to Honor Trailblazing Founders

Throughout the years, Latino journalists have broken barriers, opened doors, and made newsrooms more diverse, adding much-needed voices to the journalism landscape in the United States.

We continue to do so, but much of it wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of a group of journalists who in 1984 decided to put their names on the line and establish a national organization to represent the interests of Hispanic journalists and improve the quality of journalism in the United States.

NAHJ will honor these trailblazing founders at its 30th anniversary convention in San Antonio, August 7-9 where more than 1,000 journalists and many others are expected to attend.

The following will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during the Hall of Fame Gala on Saturday, August 9:

Bob Alaníz, Charlie Ericksen, Jesús Dávila, the late Juan Manuel García Passalaqua, Gustavo Godoy, Frank Gómez, Juan González, Paula Maes, Guillermo Martínez, Henry Mendoza, Maggie Rivas Rodríguez, Jay Rodríguez, María Elena Salinas, Edith Sayre Auslander, Norma Sosa

Join us in San Antonio and not only will you be at the nation’s premier gathering of Hispanic journalists, you’ll be a big part of an important celebration as NAHJ says GRACIAS to its founders.

¡NAHJ 30: AYER, AHORA, ADELANTE!
