Former teammates Jerome Bettis and Hines Ward will square off on
opposing sides for a no-holds-barred competition connected to big news
from Heinz and Picklesburgh….it promises to be a very big dill!
Additionally, hometown financial heavyweight BNY Mellon and
Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership will team up for a preview of
Picklesburgh Friday, July 15 & Saturday, July 16. All on the Rachel
Carson Bridge.
Media will need to pay to park in Gold Lot 1 (entrance off of W.
General Robinson Street). Please enter the stadium at Suite Entry
B adjacent to Gate B along Art Rooney Ave. Then then take the elevator
to the UPMC Club on the 2nd level.
Produced by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and presented by Heinz,
Picklesburgh is a culinary celebration that goes beyond the dill pickle
to include international dishes and handcrafted foods from local chefs
that house-cure pickled vegetables; informative how-to demonstrations,
at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Demo area, that embrace the farm-to-table
movement and the rising popularity of DIY canning; two full days of live
music and pickle juice drinking contests on the BNY Mellon stage, fun
pickle themed merchandise, and a “Li’l Gherkins” area with free
activities. Picklesburgh also features the return of the 35-foot
inflatable Heinz pickle, which was the social media darling that
everyone wanted to snap a photo with last year! The event will be
Friday, July 15 and Saturday July 16, with expanded hours from noon –
10:00 p.m. on both days. Craft beer will be available all during the
Festival and, beginning at 5:00 p.m., several restaurants will offer a
selection of artisan cocktails, many featuring pickled ingredients. Full
details on the event are available on Picklesburgh.com.
