Red Bull Global Rallycross Announces Tony Cochrane as Special Advisor

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Red Bull Global Rallycross is pleased to announce that Tony Cochrane,
Director of International Entertainment Consulting (iEC), has
joined the series as Special Advisor to the Board. Cochrane brings over
40 years of expertise and success in the premier motorsport,
entertainment and sporting event arenas.

Considered the founding father of the ‘modern’ era of motor racing in
Australia, Cochrane was Executive Chairman of the V8 Supercars Series
from 1996 until 2012, when he sold the business for a $300 million plus
valuation. Before selling V8 Supercars, Cochrane built it into a
worldwide phenomenon, expanding its reach, with international events and
an annual domestic market of more than 19 million viewers in Australia,
along with broadcast in dozens of countries around the globe.

Cochrane and his partners over the past 25 years have produced and
promoted over 400 sporting and entertainment events throughout the
world, sold in excess of 25,000,000 tickets with gross sales exceeding
$2 billion and written nearly $250,000,000 in sponsorships. In his role
as Special Advisor to the Board, Cochrane will provide strategic input
in a variety of these areas.

“Having access to Tony’s deep experience in managing one of the world’s
premier motorsports series will be a great asset to the series,” says
Red Bull Global Rallycross CEO Colin Dyne. “He is a true innovator,
which perfectly complements the GRC series as we continue to disrupt the
traditional motorsports landscape.”

Tony Cochrane said, “GRC is fantastic racing that appeals to a much
younger demographic than traditional motorsport such as NASCAR. The
racing is action packed and made for television but also brings a real
excitement at these temporary circuits as well. I can totally see why
new manufacturers and teams are jumping in – its growth is going to be
amazing!”
