Rider Sandals Brings Art to Life

Introducing new Rider sandals designed by Honolulu-based artist Colleen

ORLANDO, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Brazilian footwear brand Rider Sandals today announced they are jazzing
up their female line with new styles designed by Honolulu-based artist
Colleen Wilcox. Colleen creates acrylic on canvas paintings, using
vibrant colors to depict island life with a whimsical twist. The new
Rider styles Colleen has designed, named the CW Rio and the CW Smoothie
II, are the epitome of fashion as art, bringing the artist’s colorful,
original designs to the comfortable lifestyle sandals Rider is known for.

Colleen has been a Rider brand ambassador since 2014 and feels that
Rider’s commitment to comfort and protecting the environment aligns with
her own morals. Like Rider, Colleen is passionate about spreading a love
for the outdoors. “I love the idea of my artwork literally going along
on the journey with Rider’s active, adventurous customers as they
explore life,” says Colleen. She also loves that Rider’s sandals fit
perfectly into her lifestyle: they are designed to feel as natural as
going barefoot, with soles that are made to conform to your foot and
accommodate your natural gait.

The new styles Colleen has designed for Rider will be sold as part of
the brand’s 2016 line. “We are so excited that Colleen is using Rider
Sandals as a new canvas on which to channel her passion for the island
lifestyle,” says Christina Barshel of Rider Sandals. “Colleen’s active,
outdoor, beach lifestyle embodies the Rider vibe and her colorful
designs are a perfect addition to Rider’s most popular female styles.”

Rider’s 2016 line, complete with Colleen’s new styles, will be available
in Winter 2015 and will be available for purchase on the Rider website: www.ridersandals.com.
