Sprint Listened to DIRECTV Customers: Adding More High-Speed Data Options to Free Service Offer

OVERLAND PARK, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Last week, Sprint (NYSE: S) made an unprecedented, one-time offer
exclusively for DIRECTV customers: free wireless service – unlimited
talk, text and 2GB of data per line – for one full year when they switch
to Sprint. Customers were thrilled with the offer but wanted more data
options. Sprint listened! Beginning Friday, Sept. 4, DIRECTV customers
can now choose one of the following high-speed data options, in addition
to the unlimited talk and text for each line:


• 2GB of data per line

$0 per month

• 4GB of data per line

$10 per month, per line

• 6GB of data per line

$20 per month, per line

“DIRECTV customers switching to Sprint told us they want additional data

them loud and clear and are giving them what they want – the ability to
add more data to the DIRECTV offer. We are giving our customers the
ability to stay connected worry-free.”


Through Sept. 30, DIRECTV customers switching to Sprint or existing
Sprint customers adding a new line of service on a new smartphone
through Sprint Lease, iPhone Forever, Sprint Easy Pay1 or
paying full retail price, get 12 months of FREE unlimited talk, text and
a full 2GB of data per line (up to five lines) all while on the Sprint
network. Or, customers can choose additional data options starting at
$10 per line for 4GB of data. Customers who already signed up for the
DIRECTV offer and want more data can call Sprint Customer Care at

  • Qualified DIRECTV customers simply need to upload their recent DIRECTV
    bill at www.sprint.com/directvoffer.

contract or don’t have installment billing phone payments, Sprint will

After 12 months of free Sprint service, customers on this plan are
automatically billed the monthly rate-per-line plan for unlimited talk,
text and 2 GB data as follows plus any additional data purchased (or may
choose to switch to any of Sprint’s current service plans3):
