The Jewelry Industry Celebrates World Elephant Day
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Every 15 minutes, an elephant is killed for its ivory. In
a recent three-year period, approximately one fifth of the entire
African elephant population—100,000 elephants—were killed for their
ivory.

other fellow jewelry industry leaders in celebrating World Elephant Day
on Friday, August 12th. This annual event sought to draw
attention to the leadership of the U.S. Wildlife Trafficking Alliance
and the tireless work of NGO’s fighting for the world’s elephants.
