The Manual Unveils First Annual Manual Awards

U.S. Cities & Businesses Heralded in 8-Week
Celebration

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Manual, The Essential Guide for Men, today announced the formation
of the first annual Manual Awards, an honor bestowed on eight
great American cities and the best food, beverage and grooming
establishments found in each. An eight-week celebration – from February
1 through March 21 – will take place at winning businesses and be
supported online at TheManual.com,
an aspirational-living site dedicated to the modern male.

Cities selected for 2016 include: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Chicago, IL;
Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; and
Seattle, WA. The Manual Awards celebrate businesses in categories
offering strong male appeal: Best Bar; Best Brew; Best Restaurant; Best
Coffee Shop; Best Shop; Best Barber; and Best Local Brand.

“The goal of The Manual Awards is to help guys navigate great business
establishments in cities we know our readers would love to visit or live
in,” explains Cator Sparks, The Manual’s Editor-in-Chief. “By mixing
rising star cities along with proven American favorites, our users can
find out the best local spots to check out to help maximize all that
these great cities have to offer.”

Winning establishments were chosen by both the editorial staff from The
Manual and visitors to the site’s Facebook fan page. Each business will
feature in-store signage and have their establishments promoted on the
site and on social media. Custom Manual Award stationery for this
project was created by Egg Press of Portland, OR.

Partnering with The Manual for the awards is the leather and lifestyle
brand, Moore & Giles. Founded in 1933 in Lynchburg, Virginia, originally
as a leather supplier to local shoe makers, Moore & Giles today operates
under the same purpose upon which it was founded: to design, develop and
deliver the best, most distinctive leather in the world to all manner of
makers and manufacturers both domestic and international. In 2007 this
tradition evolved when the company began using their best leathers
to create a line of bags and accessories designed to highlight their
rare material pedigree through a lifetime of use.
