The MOMS Join Second Chance Toys to Help Get 250,000 Toys to Underserved Children This Holiday

Their Own Kids Named Ambassadors to Lead the Effort

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein, the women behind the
successful lifestyle brand, The MOMS, announced today that they will
join with charitable organization Second
Chance Toys
, to put toys in the hands of 250,000 underprivileged
children. To date, SCT, which rescues, cleans and redistributes gently
used plastic toys to children in need, has delivered nearly 220,000
plastic toys to underprivileged kids. And they have created hours and
hours of teachable moments with special
curriculum
designed to teach all children lessons about giving back
and saving the earth.

This year, SCT already has requests from partner organizations for more
than 250,000 toys. Albert, Gerstein, and their own children will partner
and support the effort by incorporating toy collection drives into some
of the brand’s Mamarazzi
events. Their own children, who have been named child ambassadors of the
charity, will be on hand to help with the collections.

“My daughter Sasha Lipton, who created Second Chance Toys close to 10
years ago at the age of 15, will pass the baton over to Denise and
Melissa’s children, marking a new generation of kids who will be
dedicated to helping other kids – and saving the environment,” said
Shelly Lipton, co-founder of SCT.

“Our families are thrilled to be a part of this very important
initiative,” said Denise Albert, “and we are confident our fans and
sponsors will embrace this movement, and help us give a second chance to
so many children.”

The MOMS will fuel the effort to collect toys by asking attendees to
their events to bring a gently used plastic toy with them or make a
donation to the cause.
