The NFL’s Troy Vincent and Dwight Hollier, Atlanta Falcons’ Kevin Winston, and Former NFL Players Takeo Spikes and Joe Burns to Headline A CALL TO MEN’s FREE Educational Event for Atlanta-Area Coaches

ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#NextGenManhood–Registration is open for A CALL TO COACHES, a FREE educational training
event where coaches are empowered to build young men of character, to
promote healthy, respectful manhood, and to decrease violence and
discrimination against women and girls.

A CALL TO COACHES is modeled on the Healthy, Respectful Manhood /
Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Prevention Training that A CALL TO
MEN provides to the National Football League (NFL), the National
Basketball Association (NBA), the National Hockey League (NHL) and Major
League Baseball (MLB). A recent Washington
Post
article reported a 40 percent reduction in arrests in the NFL
last year. NFL executives attribute that to “education programs put in
place over the past few years.”

WHO:

TROY VINCENT, executive vice president of NFL football
operations, will speak on how sports assisted him in turning the
pain of domestic violence he experienced as a child into progress
by inspiring his commitment to engage men across the nation to end
domestic violence and sexual assault. DWIGHT HOLLIER, vice
president of wellness and clinical services for the NFL, will
interview JOE BURNS, former NFL running back and founder of
the Rising Stars Foundation, an alliance with the NFL Players
Association that provides character and life skills development. DR.
LE’ROY REESE
, board chair of Men Stopping Violence and
associate professor at Morehouse School of Medicine, will moderate
a panel discussion on engaging men in the development of boys. The
panel will feature former NFL linebacker TAKEO SPIKES, COURTNEY
ALEXANDER
, NBA/NBPA consultant and former NBA player, and KEVIN
WINSTON
, the director of player engagement for the Atlanta
Falcons. TONY PORTER, co-founder of A CALL TO MEN and
international leader on issues of masculinity, male socialization
and its intersection with violence, and preventing violence
against all women and girls, will conduct the Healthy, Respectful
Manhood Training.

WHAT:

A CALL TO COACHES is designed for coaches, athletic directors,
educators, school administrators, mentors, fathers, faith leaders,
youth workers or any concerned man. Attendees will be educated on
and given A CALL TO MEN’s proprietary LIVERESPECT Coaching
