Verisae User Conference Partners with Bear Necessities to Support Women’s Advocates, Inc.

EFFICIENCY 2015 attendees will work together to build stuffed animals
for children in need

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–To a child who has just left behind everything because of domestic
violence, a stuffed animal is more than just a cute, cuddly toy. It
offers a sense of security, safety and normalcy in an otherwise chaotic
situation. Everything they know has just been uprooted, strangers are
talking to them, asking questions and getting information. They can’t go
back to their room or their home and their family looks a lot different.
In that chaos, the stuffed animal offers an oasis of calm.

That’s why Verisae
is using part of its user conference to assemble stuffed animals to give
to Women’s Advocates, Inc., a safe place where battered women and their
children can escape domestic violence. Whenever a child comes into the
facility they’re given a welcome packet that includes a stuffed animal.

“It provides the kids something that is their own, giving them a feeling
of control,” said Executive Director Babette Jamison. “For the children
in this situation, it’s a sense that this is home, that it’s safe, that
nothing is going to happen to them and to their animal.”

On a typical day there are 30 children living at the Women’s Advocates
shelter in Minneapolis, many of them under the age of 5.

Verisae, the company delivering always-on solutions for facility and
field service managers across industries is working with a group called
Bear Necessities to assemble the bears as a mixer for its EFFICIENCY
2015 conference
. The bear building event will take place at 3:30pm
on Tuesday, October 13 at the Loews Hotel in downtown Minneapolis.
EFFICIENCY 2015 brings together customers and partners from around the
world. During this part of the event they will work together to assemble
100 bears, including stuffing and clothing them.

“We wanted to find a way to give back to the community while also
helping our customers get to know one another,” said Verisae CEO Jerry
Dolinsky. “We’re bringing hundreds of people into Minneapolis for this
event and we want them to leave behind a positive impact. A great way to
get to know those around you is to build together, and if we can help
kids along the way, then we’ve done our job.”

With 15 bedrooms sheltering up to 50 women and children each night,
Women’s Advocates shelters more than 1000 women and children each year
and receives more than 16,000 calls for help. For more information visit http://wadvocates.org.
