For almost any ailment you suffer from, there will be a home remedy that someone will offer that they heard will work. But not all home remedies work, just like not every home remedy is fake. Here are a few remedies that do work:

Wipe your feet down with rubbing alcohol (vodka also works) to remove foot odor. The alcohol component provides antiseptic properties which destroy the fungus and bacteria that causes the odor to begin with. How does it do it? It dries out your foot so the organisms don’t have moisture to grow.

Gargle five times a day for two minutes with 8 ounces of warm water and 1 teaspoon of table salt to cure a sore throat. If the pain doesn’t go away, consult a physician!

Placing a pencil in your mouth between your teeth, without biting, can prevent a headache. A headache is often caused when you clench your jaw and teeth and, in turn, strain your muscle. Placing a pencil in your mouth relaxes the muscle.

Brew your favorite tea and add ginger to it since the natural chemicals in ginger relax and calm your stomach.

Listerine is an antiseptic and these properties can get rid of your blisters as well. Apply listerine to your blister with a cotton ball a few times a day and the area will dry out.

Battle dry hair with one simple ingredient: Extra virgin olive oil. Leave the oil in your hair for at least twenty minutes and make sure to apply evenly to your roots and tips. Apply two to three times a week, or more if needed.

Swallowing a teaspoon of sugar can stop hiccups in a matter of minutes. How? The nerve muscle that contracts and causes hiccups is altered when you swallow sugar. Suffice it to say, don’t keep swallowing teaspoons of sugar if your hiccups don’t stop.

An apple a day not only keeps the doctors away, but it also keeps away food stains. The malic acid found in apples dissolve stains on your enamel, naturally leaving you a set of pearly whites.

You know that annoying feeling you get after biting into pizza that is too hot or drinking soup too quickly? Apart from the pain, the tissue at the roof of your mouth peels off. Eating some ice cream, frozen yogurt, or gelato will provide soothing relief. An ice cube will work just as well!
