Llegó District 12 para pasarla chévere

Maybe loud, pulsating music and neon lights are not your scene. In that case, District 12 might be more of your style.

This Inwood, Manhattan spot is unique: It’s a gastropub, garden and a steakhouse all in one.

District 12 opened during the summer and with 36 plasma televisions and a video wall, it’s definitely a sports fan dream.

The gastropub’s food isn’t your typical medicore bar fare. District 12 serves delicious burgers, steaks and even crab cakes starting at $8. I tried the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, for $13. With celery root remoulade and orange-chipotle aioli, the cakes were fresh, scrumptious, and filling. With any of the yummy meals, you have your choice of 24 lines of draft beer or one of their 75 bottled beers from all over the world.

When I checked out the steakhouse right downstairs, it was an entirely different vibe. It’s sophisticated and elegant. Steaks are aged for 28 to 31 days, which results in a tender and tasty meat. District 12’s Dry-Aged Prime Porterhouse Steak is $48 and is accompanied with mashed potatoes and asparagus.

Tomorrow night, visit District 12 and you’ll get a chance to listen to the Bueno Alvaro rock band. Both the pub and steakhouse are great for dates or just a fun night with friends. So if you want a taste of downtown, stay Uptown and visit District 12.
