Actress Gal Gadot plays Wonder Woman in the upcoming movie Man of Steel 2, but the actress admits she has a very non-superhero weakness in real life: cheeseburgers.

According to Gadot, cheeseburgers are “good for the soul,” but she makes sure to balance everything she does. For this reason, the occasional cheeseburger doesn’t faze the actress, who was actually told she was originally too skinny to play the role of Wonder Woman.

Movie costume designer Michael Wilkinson told Esquire in an interview that the conventional approach to Wonder Woman wasn’t going to be present in the upcoming Man of Steel film. Not only will the costume be less skimpy than it has in the past, Wonder Woman is taking on a more gladiator-like look. Does this mean Gadot had to bulk up?

Maybe a little, and according to one of her interviews she started a very intense, variety-packed workout that involved ” Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian?1,000 and 1 things.”

“I think there’s a huge responsibility we all feel about Wonder Woman,” Wilkinson said. “She hasn’t been on the big screen in a movie ever. She’s been on TV, of course, with the legendary Linda Carter. She’s been drawn a million different ways in graphic novels and comic books so we’re really sinking ourselves into that culture and educating ourselves about her backstory and really thinking hard about a Wonder Woman who is contemporary and reverberates with modern audiences.”

As for Gadot, she tells E! that plenty of water and exercise is what keeps her in top condition, though she isn’t a huge fan of cardio.

“I just keep active—everything that’s challenging me, everything that I feel like doing,” she said. “It’s not like I’m only TRX or Pilates. I do sports. I do cardio, but I don’t like it as much. I’d rather do weights.”

And while most people have heard of Pilates, what is TRX that Gadot mentions? The TRX website indicates this form of exercise is based on Navy SEALS workouts and is a form of suspension training that works the entire body. TRX uses the body’s own weight as a form of resistance.  What’s more, TRX is not just a single exercise, but hundreds of exercises based on the core principle of resistance.
