With World AIDS Day right around the corner, the Spanish heartthrob opened up about sex education, HIV/AIDS and sex myths during his pitstop at the 2014 MTV European Music Awards this month. The “Hero” singer also mentioned that though he began to receive sex ed at the age of 14, it did not mean that he began having sex at that age. “In my school, sex education was actually really good,” he emphasized. Nonetheless, he admitted to always using protection when performing the act, stating “for me it was always about having safe sex.” The bilingual pop star also talked about the importance of wearing a condom and/or using birth control. “I grew up in the eighties,” said Iglesias, noting that he “knows that he’s old.” “I actually have a lot of friends of my parents that died of HIV/AIDS, so it’s extremely important,” he continued talking of the matter. “I think younger kids should take that seriously and just have safe sex, all the time. At least I had sex all the time,” he added in hopes to raise awareness and encourage many around the world to follow his advice. As the chit-chat with the pop crooner wrapped up, Iglesias talked about the craziest sex he’s ever had.
