Eva Longoria, the consummate supporter of President Barack Obama, is visiting Miami at the same time the president visits the area to help raise money for the Democratic party during an immigration amnesty town hall meeting.

The “Desperate Housewives” star and Latina activist shared a photo on social media with the view of Miami Beach and the caption, “Man I wish I could wake up to this everyday?.#Paradise.” Obama is enjoying a little bit of that paradise too while he visits on serious business that includes an appearance at Florida International University.

But Longoria didn’t hit the 305 on vacation either; in fact, she’s there to take advantage of President Obama’s town hall meeting and get some of her own work done.

Obama is visiting FIU to speak in defense of his executive actions to legalize millions of illegal immigrants. The “Miami Herald” reports that he’s expected to take questions directly from undocumented immigrants and will most likely address the Homeland Security Department budget.

The private event is  sponsored by Spanish-language network Telemundo and hosted by anchor MSNBC/Telemundo anchor Jose Diaz-Balart.

In conjunction with Obama’s town hall, the Mexican-American actress is expected to meet with wealthy Latinos ?such as Gloria and Emilio Estefan? in hopes to get funds for her political action committee.

Longoria and a number of Latino donors are involved in getting donations for their “Latino Victory Project” in Miami Beach.

The group grew from the Futuro Fund, a 2012 effort led by Longoria, Henry Muñoz, and Puerto Rican lawyer Andrés W. López, which raised $32 million for Obama’s re-election, according to Buzzfeed News.

AP reports that before leaving for Florida, Obama met at the White House with immigration advocates to discuss the status of his executive actions.

“There is the power of the bully pulpit. That’s partially what he’s doing in Miami,” said Marielena Hincapie, executive director of the National Immigration Law Center.

“It’s also clear that the Department of Justice and the Obama administration are taking a pretty assertive stance in using all the legal tools at their disposal to defend his policy, which is good not just for immigrants but I’m sure the administration sees it as part of the president’s legacy.”
