Reabren puente Washington luego de incidente con carro en llamas
Los carriles inferiores estuvieron cerrados, bloqueando el tráfico del Alto Manhattan a Nueva Jersey
Un automóvil que se prendió en fuego esta mañana dentro del puente George Washington provocó un caos en el tráfico entre el Alto Manhattan y Nueva Jersey, por el cierre del nivel inferior del elevado.
El puente ya ha sido reabierto.
Por razones aún no establecidas el vehículo se incendió cuando transitaba por el nivel inferior del puente, cerca de la orilla del río Hudson, del lado de Nueva Jersey, alrededor de las 7:20 a.m, informó Daily News. No se reportaron víctimas.
“Debido a un incendio en un vehículo, todos los carriles hacia Nueva Jersey del Puente George Washington, en el nivel inferior, están cerrados en Manhattan”, informó vía Twitter la Autoridad Portuaria.
Los bomberos pudieron apagar el incendio justo antes de las 8 a.m., pero el problema de tráfico se mantuvo al menos dos horas por el cierre de los carriles inferiores.
