Another video 😡 The student in the video has special needs and cannot communicate like most of us. The events in these videos happened several weeks before the mother was notified by George Ranch High School personnel. The student was unable to communicate, in any way, to his mother what was happening to him in class. The teacher was keenly aware of this and took advantage of that fact. The name of the teacher assaulting this child is Regina Thurston. She was employed as a Special Education teacher at George Ranch High School in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. Sam Wesley and Associates, PLLC., represents this student and his family at their Special Education Due Process Hearing. The hearing is scheduled from January 20th to the 23rd at the LCISD Service Center located at 4901 Avenue I, Rosenberg, TX 77471 in the Training Room. The family has decided to make the hearing public to make sure this NEVER happens again in a Special Education classroom. These videos are infuriating. It’s unconscionable that Lamar Consolidated ISD allowed this form of discipline against a child unable to defend himself. #helpspeak4me Posted @withrepost • @helpspeak4me This happened to my child in a Special Education classroom within Lamar Consolidated ISD in Texas. He’s not able to fully communicate or defend himself. In some of the videos, there is additional staff standing around doing nothing to help my child. I want other parents to know that this could happen to your child too. #helpspeak4me @karenmayercunningham @samwesley.esq
