MobileHelp’s® Chris Otto Presents New Step-down Telehealth Solution for Providers at the Home Health Technology Summit 2016

NEW ORLEANS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–MobileHelp®,
a leader in mobile Personal Emergency Response Systems (mPERS) and health
management solutions
, announced today that its SVP of Business and
Product Development, Chris Otto, will be presenting at the Home Health
Technology Summit this week in New Orleans.

Held March 13-15 at the Hotel Monteleone, the Home Health Technology
Summit will offer a tailored education experience for homecare providers
who want to leverage the latest technologies to transform the business
of healthcare.

Joined by David Taylor, RN, Mr. Otto will present the conference track
titled, “Technology in action: How homecare providers are using
technology to reshape business and care.”

Beginning at 3:30 PM on Monday, March 14, the 1-hour session will
examine a pilot program between MobileHelp and the Visiting Nurses
Association (VNA) of the Greater Rockford Area, to present the real-life
advantages of incorporating a step-down monitoring solution for patients
transitioning from a traditional clinical-oversight telehealth program
back into “regular life.”

“Following the reimbursable window, our patients would routinely become
anxious about losing the continuous medical oversight they experience
when they are monitored by our clinicians,” said Mr. Taylor. “The
consumer-facing telehealth solution from MobileHelp gives us the
opportunity to offer patients a step-down solution, which has allowed
them to self-monitor their vital signs as well as have access to
emergency help if they need it.”

The session will explore the challenges the VNA sought to address and
how implementing a step-down program allowed its patients to maintain
long-term health – and stay out of the hospital. The presentation also
includes feedback from patients involved in the pilot, as well as
program statistics – including a reported 47 percent increase in
confidence levels around managing a chronic condition, and an 18 percent
increase in mobility and physical activity – that underscore the
program’s success.

“The healthcare system has demonstrated time and again that utilization
of telehealth technology is a critical component for keeping people
healthy and out of the hospital in the long-term,” said Mr. Otto. “Our
solution offers patients the ability to conduct their own long-term
monitoring of vital signs, leveraging the education they have acquired
while working with clinicians during the initial post-discharge period.”

The session presented by Mr. Otto and Mr. Taylor is also profiled in a
whitepaper titled, “The Future of Home Health is Here,” available via
