San Francisco Chronicle Debuts “Chronicle Chats” Series With Panel on Political Climate

Distinguished Panelists Include Black Lives Matter Co-Founder Alicia
Garza and Former Senior Advisor to Bernie Sanders Presidential Campaign

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–To address topics important to Bay Area residents, the San
Francisco Chronicle
, Northern California’s largest media company,
will kick off Chronicle Chats – an ongoing series of events featuring
thought leaders, influencers, newsmakers, and trendsetters. The first
event, to be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. in San Francisco’s
historic Herbst Theater, will include a panel discussion about the
current political landscape and how it affects the Bay Area.

The panel, “The Future of the Left: Can the Trump Resistance Grow Beyond
Protest?” will be moderated by New York Times best-selling author and
Chronicle columnist David Talbot. Panelists will include Alicia Garza, a
co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement; Becky Bond, a Bernie
Sanders campaign official and longtime liberal activist; Dan Schnur, a
professor at University of Southern California and UC Berkeley as well
as a former conservative political consultant; and Laura Guzmán, a
longtime Latina organizer focused on poverty and immigrant rights.
