Students Prepare for the Future at Destinations Career Academy of Colorado

— Students return to online public school August 22nd

DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Students at Destinations
Career Academy of Colorado
(CODCA), a tuition-free, online
public school, will begin their 2016-2017 school year on August 22,
thankful for a place that prepares them for life after high school.
Students attending CODCA come from diverse backgrounds and are exploring
the vast array of possible careers while still in school.

Colorado students in grades 6 through 12 are welcome to attend CODCA. As
the only career-focused virtual school in the state of Colorado,
students attending the school learn career and employment skills while
still in high school. CODCA offers career courses in eight distinct
pathways—offering students the opportunity to take highly engaging
courses and explore career fields both in and out of the classroom.
Other learning opportunities include interview preparation, team
collaboration and learning how to communicate effectively with many
types of people.

The school’s comprehensive education approach focuses on providing
students with the academic, social and emotional support needed to
succeed in school and beyond. The online learning environment allows
students to work at their own pace, giving them time to progress faster
in subjects at which they excel, while spending more time on subjects
and lessons where they need more help.

“We are pleased that we can provide this type of learning here in
Colorado,” said Valerie Perciante, principal of Destinations Career
Academy of Colorado. “We are offering students excellent opportunities
both in the core academic areas, as well as through our extensive
electives and CTE program. These courses are relative to life after high
school and allow students to have exposure to high growing career
fields, as well as better prepare them to enter a post secondary
college.”

At CODCA, state-certified teachers provide instruction, guidance and
support, and interact with students and families via email, web-based
classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings. This
ensures that students and their families feel supported yet challenged
in their education in a way that may be different for every student.

Earlier this summer, CODCA challenged enrolled families to prevent
summer ‘brain drain’ by offering students free access to LearnBop,
a self-paced solution that simulates a one-on-one, personalized math
tutoring experience. The award-winning online program will continue to
be available free of charge throughout the fall and can be used
alongside the regular math curriculum to build math skills or prepare
for high-level exams.

CODCA is still accepting enrollments for this fall. To learn more about
