Wescom Credit Union Brings Financial Education to Southern Californians via New Stops on its Did You Know? Mobile Banking Bus Tour

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wescom
Credit Union
today announced 12 new Southern California Big
Blue
Mobile Branch Tour stops as part of its Did You Know?
financial education campaign, designed to empower consumers with
practical tips and smart money management advice. Each stop—including
marquee stops at the Northridge Mall, all UCLA home football games and
the Phroogal Road to Financial Wellness event—offers complimentary
financial consulting.

The 18-foot-tall Big Blue Mobile Banking unit has already traveled to 15
communities throughout Southern California since its January 2016
launch. The mobile branch is equipped with a cash-dispensing ATM machine
and an 88” flat screen display and interactive monitors. Visitors can
open accounts, manage cashless banking transactions, and better
understand the impact of key financial decisions such as paying for
college or purchasing a car.

“Wescom’s Big Blue mobile banking unit is rooted in providing the
ultimate convenience for our nearly 200,000 members across Southern
California,” said Debbie Shepherd, Director of Member Experiences,
Wescom. “But we did not want to stop there. Our Did You Know?
initiative converts Big Blue into a traveling financial guidance center
to educate and empower people to make the very best financial choices
possible.”

The tour features a number of marquee stops, including all UCLA football
home games at the Rose Bowl Stadium as part of Wescom’s sponsorship of
UCLA Athletics. An additional event on September 15th at the
Wescom Headquarters in Pasadena will be co-hosted by financial education
startup Phroogal
as part of Phroogal’s 50-city Road
to Financial Wellness
