VALENCIA, España – Sin Lionel Messi y con una línea defensiva alternativa (Mina, Vermaelen y Semedo) que hizo agua, el Barcelona perdió por fin el invicto de 43 partidos sin conocer la derrota ante el rival menos esperado: un Levante que los tuvo contra la pared con una goleada que iba a ser histórica.
Los Levantinos acabaron con la racha del Barcelona sin perder en LaLiga Santander al imponerse por 5-4 en un partido loco en el que llegó a ir venciendo por 5-1 y acabó el cuadro de Ernesto Valverde por estar muy cerca de empatar.
El ghanés Emmanuel Boateng y el brasileño Philippe Coutinho firmaron sendos tripletes. El macedonio Enis Bardhi sumó los otros dos tantos levantinistas y el uruguayo Luis Suárez, de penalti, completó la cuenta del cuadro azulgrana de penalti.
