Desde poco antes de la medianoche y toda la madrugada del sábado, el servicio ferroviario Amtrak y NJ Transit fue suspendido temporalmente dentro y fuera de NYC Penn Station debido a problemas con cables.
Unos cables aéreos se derrumbaron en el túnel del río Hudson alrededor de las 11:15 p.m. anoche, inhabilitando dos trenes con más de mil pasajeros a bordo, informó ABC News.
Los pasajeros quedaron varados por unas horas hasta que fueron trasladados a trenes de rescate. Otros cientos quedaron a la espera en las estaciones.
Los equipos han estado trabajando para reparar la disfunción. En el último reporte vía Twitter, el servicio estaba reactivado con retrasos en sentido este, hacia NYC, pero seguía suspendido de aquí a Nueva Jersey.
Los trenes Northeast Corridor, New Jersey Coast Lines, Morris y Essex y Montclair Boonton Midtown Direct fueron desviados hacia Hoboken, informó NJ Transit.
La situación se complica aún más porque PATH está prestando servicio limitado los fines de semana a Midtown; y las reparaciones en la autopista 495 que conecta al Lincoln Tunnel.

UPDATE: Crews were able to get power restored to one track in NYP. East bound trains will start moving first. Trains 150 and 66 will be the first trains to get moving again. Crews are still working to get power restored to the other track.
