Julio Iglesias has his eyes on One Direction, they are everything he sees. Sounds creepy, right?

But it’s not what you think. Instead, rumor has it that the Spanish romantic crooner of the 70′s would like to collaborate with the English-Irish pop group.

You may be wondering why, but Iglesias would like to have the opportunity to record with the boy band because he admitted that his 13-year-old twin daughters, Cristina and Victoria, are fans… or better yet, “Directioners.”

“My daughters would be very happy if I could do something with One Direction. But who knows?,” said Iglesias in a recent interview, reports a One Direction fan site.

A website called One Direction Joy has the exclusive scoop on Iglesias.

“I promise that in a year I will surprise everyone with music made with a young generation of people,” he added.

Iglesias, who is known as the most successful Latin artist of all time, said he would want to do something special like singing with popular artists such as Bruno Mars or Justin Timberlake and other younger artists.

But the 70-year-old has his concerns, and though he’s been in the business for over four decades, he feels a bit challenged by the artists of today.

“It’s not easy for me to be able to reach the young generations because I belong to a classical style like Frank Sinatra or Dolly Parton.”

However, we’re sure he’ll be able to nail a song in English, since the remarkable Iglesias is the only artist to-date to sing in 14 different languages, including Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian.

We’re not sure if Iglesias would really like to collaborate with the boy band or younger artists, but just the thought of it is brilliant.

It’s like the one song both abuelita and granddaughter will have in common.
