Don’t forget to drink your…sunscreen?

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, and experts indicate wearing sunscreen can be one of the easiest ways of preventing this condition. It’s not always easy to remember to put on sunscreen, especially if it’s not super hot outside.

So what is the answer? According to Osmosis Skincare, the makers of Harmonized Water UV Neutralizer, protecting yourself from dangerous ultraviolet radiation is as simple as drinking water –their specialty water, to be exact.

Harmonized Water UV Neutralizer is claims to neutralize UV rays while still allowing the skin to be exposed to the sun for tanning purposes. The formula is supposed to be time-released, though the instructions indicate additional doses need to be taken after factoring exercise and time spent in the sun longer than four hours.

My personal testing of the UV protection water has been nothing short of amazing,” writes a reviewer on the Osmosis Skincare website.

They continued: “I have allowed my skin to tan for the first time in 30 years and have not burned at all. I also tested the UV on my 14 year old grandson who has milky white skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. Without protection, he would normally burn red in 8 to 10 minutes then freckles a few days later. Neither of us could believe that he did not burn at all! As you can imagine, I was afraid to try it on him but, we are both so excited to finally find a safe (and convenient) alternative to sunscreens!”

Too good to be true?

The idea that you could possibly get all your sunscreen protection at the same time that you’re hydrating your body sounds wonderful, but just how does this miracle product work?

According to a report from Fox News, Harmonized Water UV Neutralizer contains “standing waves (scalar waves) that have a cancellation effect on UV radiation.”

Not surprisingly, deeper investigation into what scalar waves are makes it doubtful they are, in fact, a useful component in Harmonized Water, primarily because they only exist in theory.

Scalar waves are “hypothetical waves, which differ from the conventional electromagnetic transverse waves by one oscillation level parallel to the direction of propagation, they thus have characteristics of longitudinal waves. Their existence however, as presupposed in numerous parascientific and pseudoscientific theories, has so far not been proven. Scalar waves are called also “electromagnetic longitudinal waves” or “Teslawellen,” according to RM Cybernetics.

It is hypothesized when theses waves collide, they do so with enough power to eradicate any matter or energy found between them, hence the belief that they could vanquish harmful UV rays, but despite some studies supporting or refuting the existence of such a force, the scientific community has yet to accept scalar wave theory as truth.

What does this mean for you? When it comes to sun protection, you can try Harmonized Water, but make sure to have a backup supply of sunscreen on you just in case. As one journalist found, the claims didn’t always hold true.

“I tried the water on one particularly sunny weekend spent by the pool,” stated Fox’s Aleisha Fetters.

“First the good news: It didn’t taste bad. It was literally just water. Phew. But that’s all I really have in terms of pros, since my near-transparent skin still burned after a couple of hours spent in the sun. (Well, all of my skin except those parts covered in true sunblock. I wasn’t about to take any chances with my face.)”
