The restaurant chain is looking for those with food service experience for the expansion. Miami Grill is also hoping that one Miami superstar helps the people get excited enough to get involved.
“Since childhood Miami Subs has been one of my favorite Miami spots – It’s an incredible feeling to take ownership in a brand that’s so close to home. When you think about music, it’s the universal language. When you think about food, it brings everyone together in the same way – that’s powerful and now we’re bringing The New Miami Subs Grill franchise worldwide.” Pitbull said on the restaurant’s website under their franchising information.
The marriage of Miami Grill and Pitbull is one straight out of a blockbuster movie, as the website describes their “parallel journeys.”
The website described thier realtionship with the cuban rapper like this:
“We continue our evolution from Miami Subs to Miami Grill with the inclusion of equity partner Armando Christian Perez, better known as Pitbull. A Miami native, Pitbull grew up dining at Miami Subs restaurants. Just as Miami Subs has evolved over the years to an international level, so too has Pitbull risen as a worldwide music sensation. Recognizing their parallel journeys and seeing the growth of the brand with its modern new design inspired by the style and energy of Miami this savvy businessman recognized Miami Grill’s potential and joined the team.”
The first Miami Grill is set to open in the Miami-Dade neighborhood of Culter Bay in August, as the location currently awaits its certificate of occupancy.
The brokerage in charge of this expansion is Prakas & Co. They expect to sign between 10 and 20 new locations within the 18 months and even more at the five year mark.
There are more than 300 Miami Grill restaurants under contract worldwide. Pitbull became and equity partner in the restaurant two years ago.
