The Rivera family has filed a new lawsuit against Starwood Management, the company responsible for the air craft in which Jenni Rivera died.
It’s been over two years since Rivera passed away in a tragic plane crash; however, the case is not clear and seems to get more complicated each time.

“It’s complicated because the remaining pieces of the plane are too small. It’s a case where there were many big losses and it deals with a large amount of money,” lawyer Vance Owen said, reports Univision.
“The companies need to take responsibility, not only for their damages, but also for the victims in the plane.”
With the hopes to bring this case to an end, the Rivera dynasty has now sued new companies involved with the plane crash.
These companies include those which had to do with the maintenance of the plane and even those which in a given moment touched the plane, expressed the lawyer.

“These companies already requested maximum protection from the United States federal court. So this case could end up in the hands of federal judges,” he said.
He also stated that these new businesses have the right to be sued outside their home state. They can also request for the case to be heard in a federal court where they feel they would have less discrimination.
As the Rivera’s try to close this case, a new theory regarding the unfortunate accident on Dec. 9, 2012 has been revealed and could probably help resolve what exactly happened minutes before the crash.
“Perhaps a screw that is used to raise and lower the stabilizer (which causes the plane to go up or down) had some sort of fail and as a result the pilots lost control of the plane,” Owen said.

Whichever the case, the Rivera’s are asking 10 companies to take full responsibility for the tragic death of “La Diva de la Banda” and her team.
“The biggest danger in this case would be a division between Jenni’s team and her family,” he said. “As if they are on two battlefields, instead of being on one campground together.”
