Prince has caused commotion with the exciting announcement that he’s released not one, but two new albums, which he presented to the world via a video stream this week that included Kendrick Lamar.

After 18 years, the iconic singer-songwriter made a historic return to his original home label at Warner Bros. Records with a solo album called “Art Official Age” and an album with his new band 3RDEYEGIRL called “Plectrumelectrum.”

The legendary singer celebrated his two productions in an exclusive Livestream concert that took place Tuesday night at his Paisley Park Studio via Yahoo.

In a nearly two hour long event, which Prince referred to as “Plectrumelectrumartofficialage,” included a behind-the-scene tour of the 65,000 square foot facility in Minnesota, interviews, a preview of a track with Rita Ora, and a 20-minute live set of Prince’s new jams featuring a guest appearance by Kendrick Lamar.

Though the Livestream lasted quite a long time, some fans –especially the die-hard ones– were disappointed that “The Purple One” took the stage for such a short amount of time.

And of course, they headed to Twitter to voice their thoughts. And of course, using the event’s hashtag #PRINCEGLOBALPARTY.

What? I was just getting warmed up? I feel like I was just kicked out of the party?! Prince would NOT approve #YahooLive #PRINCEGLOBALPARTY

Is that it? Did we wait 2 hours to watch 3 songs live via stream? #PRINCEGLOBALPARTY

It was fun while it lasted. Yahoo played with my emotions tonight! Idk how I feel about that though lol nah but seriously #PRINCEGLOBALPARTY — Kay Rochelle™ ♡ (@YOUlove_Kay) October 1, 2014

Other fans, however, were left content and satisfied with everything that the 56-year-old Minneapolis-based funk, R&B and rock genius had offered.

So honored to be getting all this 💜 from the #princeglobalparty! Glad you are enjoying #ArtOfficialAge! 🙏💜🎶

In addition to his presentation Tuesday night, this year has been one of the most exciting yet for the prodigious musical talent.

Together with 3RDEYEGIRL, the Grammy winning artist rocked UK and European audiences into a frenzy with his sell-out “Hit & Run” tours, generating some of the most significant critical acclaim of his career so far.
